My Bonnie lies over the ocean
My Bonnie lies over the sea
My Bonnie lies over the ocean
Oh, bring back my Bonnie to me
Bring back, bring back
Oh, bring back my Bonnie to me, to me
Bring back, bring back
Oh, bring back my Bonnie to me
Bring back, bring back
Oh, bring back my Bonnie to me, to me
Bring back, bring back
Oh, bring back my Bonnie to me

My Bonnie is a traditional Scottish folk song which remains popular in the English-speaking world.
It is believed that the song references Charles Edward Stuart, more famously known as Bonnie Prince Charlie.
Bonnie Prince Charlie, who tried to restore the Stuarts to the English throne in 1745-6, was the great-grandson of the Polish king John III Sobieski.
In 1961 Tony Sheridan, an English rock singer, famously recorded and arranged the song with musical backing by The Beatles.
