Language aim: learning days of the week and talking about weekly activities in English.
preparation
Print out playing and wild cards. If you want, you can stick the printout onto the heavy paper. Laminate for future use.
Cut out the individual cards, fold them and glue. Learn more how to prepare our cards (pdf). They are double-sided and self-checking, with the task on one side, and the answer on the reverse.
Before playing the game revise or pre-teach the names of all the items on the playing cards.
Our printables are in pdf format. To download them, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader.
how to play
This is a game for 2-4 players (or teams). Kids move along the game track that is made of both playing and wild cards.
Shuffle playing and wild cards. Make your own game course by placing the cards on the floor (or table).
Students roll the dice and land on a card.
If it is a wild card, they follow the instruction (e.g. Miss a turn, Sing an English song).
If it is a question card, they say, for example, On Tuesdays she learns to swim (check by flipping the card).
Each correct answer gains one point. The student with the most points wins the game.
